What is CRO

We know what you are thinking… Another acronym?

CRO, or Conversion Rate Optimisation, is ‘the process of increasing the percentage of website visitors who take a desired action’ or getting your visitors to do what you want them to do. This action could be anything from making a purchase to booking a home visit and would be called a ‘conversion’.

You can significantly boost your conversions by analysing user behaviour and making strategic changes to your website.

So, how does CRO work?

  • Understanding User Behaviour: We study how visitors interact with your website, including their clicks, scrolls, and time on the page.
  • Identifying Opportunities: We pinpoint areas where users might drop off or struggle to complete desired actions.
  • Making Data-Driven Changes: Based on our insights, we implement targeted changes to improve the user experience and guide visitors towards conversion.

Common ‘Conversion’ Goals:

  • Form submissions
  • Product purchases
  • Meeting bookings
  • Account creation
  • Newsletter subscriptions

Example: A product page might try to encourage visitors to add an item to their shopping cart. By making the “Add to Cart” button more prominent and streamlining the checkout process, it will increase the likelihood of a conversion!

Are You New To SEO?

Here are some quick starter tips to get the ball rolling.

Claim and verify: The first step to building your SEO may already be done for you! An easy way to get a bit of online presence is through your Google Business Profile. Usually, Google has generated one for your business, but if you are very new, you may have to do this for yourself (a post for another time!). To start, you can claim your account, by clicking ‘own this business’ and then authenticate it by following Google’s verification process.

List your business: Build up your online presence by listing your business on online directories. The more places your business is listed, the more likely people are to find you! The one thing to be careful of about these is to make sure the details you are filling out are EXACTLY the same between listings. Otherwise, Google won’t be able to connect the dots between posts, so all your efforts will be in vain!

Don’t Get Lost in The Digital Maze

Don’t Get Lost in the Digital Maze: Choose the Right Domain Name

Before you launch your website, securing a Relevant Domain Name is like planting your flag in the vast online landscape. It’s the address that comes before “.co.uk” or “.com” and becomes your brand’s virtual storefront. Why is a relevant domain name important?

Clarity is King: Your domain name should clearly reflect your business and your services. This helps potential customers understand what you do at a glance!

Local SEO Boost: Adding your location to your domain can significantly enhance your visibility in local searches, making it easier for nearby customers to find you.

Keep it Simple: Avoid hyphens, numbers, and cryptic acronyms. Remember, easy to spell equals easy to remember (and find!). Nobody wants to type “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” just to reach your website, right?

So, invest some time in brainstorming a domain name that’s:
1)Memorable: Make it something that sticks in people’s minds.
2)Brand-Aligned: Ensure it reflects your brand identity and values.
3)SEO-Friendly: Including relevant keywords can help with search engine rankings.

What Is the Best Way to Promote Your Business?

Navigating the world of marketing can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to deciding between digital and traditional channels. Each has its quirks.

Digital Marketing: Leveraging digital channels (like websites, social media, email, and search engines) to reach and engage your audience.

  • Reach: Target your chosen audience with precision.
  • Measurability: Track results in real-time to optimise campaigns.
  • Engagement: Interact directly with customers through social media and online communities.

Traditional Marketing: Using offline channels (like print ads, TV commercials, radio, and billboards) to connect with your target market.

  • Brand Awareness: Build recognition and trust through physical presence.
  • Local Reach: Connect with customers in your community.
  • Tangible Experience: Create a lasting impression with physical materials.

The Power of Brand Awareness

Why do some companies seem to be everywhere you look? That’s the power of brand awareness! It’s all about getting your brand recognised by the people who matter most – your potential customers.

Here’s why brand awareness is a game-changer:

  • Standing out from the crowd: In today’s noisy world, brand awareness helps you cut through the clutter and get noticed.
  • Building trust and familiarity: People are more likely to choose brands they recognise and trust.
  • Boosting all your marketing efforts: A strong brand makes your SEO, social media, and other advertising more effective!

What are the key ingredients to making yourself a known brand?

  • Be everywhere: Don’t limit yourself! Be present on social media, search engines, email marketing, and even in-person events if they’re relevant to your sector.
  • Tell your story: What’s your ‘unique selling point’? Why should people care about what you do? Tell your potential customers the things they want to know.
  • Be consistent: Keep on top of your social media and other marketing efforts to ensure a steady stream of clear and consistent information.
  • Build your brand identity: From your logo and website to your van, make sure everything creates a cohesive and memorable brand image.

SEO vs PPC: A Balancing Act for Online Visibility

When it comes to digital marketing, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and PPC (Pay-Per-Click) often take centre stage. While both are essential for driving online traffic, they have different approaches and benefits.

SEO: The Long Game

SEO is a marathon, not a sprint. It involves optimising your content to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs) over time. It can be a slower process, but the rewards are substantial. Once you’ve achieved a high ranking, you’ll enjoy consistent organic traffic without the ongoing costs of PPC. Plus, organic results are often perceived as more trustworthy.

PPC: Quick Wins

PPC, on the other hand, offers immediate results. You can quickly appear at the top of SERPs by bidding on relevant keywords. However, this comes at an extra cost.

The Right Approach for Your Business

The best approach depends on your unique goals and resources. If you’re looking for a sustainable, long-term strategy, SEO might be the way to go. For quick visibility and immediate results, PPC can be effective. But why limit yourself? Many businesses successfully combine SEO and PPC for maximum impact.

Maximising Your Online Presence

To truly excel in digital marketing, you need a comprehensive strategy that leverages both SEO and PPC. This requires the right tools and expertise.

How Do They Know What You’re Thinking?

Ever wondered how those targeted ads on Google seem to know exactly what you’re thinking?

It’s all thanks to the magic of Google Ads. This powerful online advertising platform is a game-changer for businesses looking to reach their ideal customers at the precise moment they need them.

How Does It Work?

Simple. When someone searches for a specific product or service, Google Ads displays relevant ads at the top of the search results. It’s a pay-per-click (PPC) model, so you only pay when someone actually clicks on your ad.

The best part? Google Ads ads are prominently placed alongside organic search results, ensuring maximum visibility to users who are actively seeking information related to your business.

Switch On Your Social Media Accounts

Keeping on top of your social media accounts while running a business can be challenging!

Sometimes, the right opportunities don’t present themselves when needed. If you’re on a job, you don’t have time to write up about what you’re working on for all of your devoted fans, but you do have time to take a quick photo!

The best thing to do is take lots of photos of all of the work you are doing as you are doing it; not only will it give you good reference points to go back to, but it will also give you loads of content for your social media.

You can use these photos to create exciting posts later by utilising tools like Meta Business Suite. So, when you have the time, you can put together a quick write-up and schedule it for posting the next day – it’s as easy as that! How do you use the Meta business suite, you ask? Well, it’s as simple as this…

  • Head over to your Business Facebook profile on your desktop and click Meta Business Suite on the left-hand side; this will take you to your Meta Business Suite Profile.
  • Click the blue “Create Post” button in the centre of the page.
  • When you click “Create Post” a pop-up window will appear. Here, select where you want to schedule your post: Facebook Feed? Instagram Feed? You can also choose to post to both platforms simultaneously.
  • Enter the details of your post in the designated sections.
  • After inputting your post content, use the ‘Scheduling options’ to select the date and time you would like your post to go out.
  • Check through your edits and ensure everything is correct. The right-hand side of the screen allows you to preview what your posts will look like on Desktop and Mobile.
  • Then click post (or schedule) when your post is ready to go!
