The WDSEO team has grown, so it’s time for another edition of ‘Meet the Team’! This time, we sat down with our newest team member, Junior Web Developer Matt Prince to learn more about his interests, passion for web design and love of beef bourguignon.
What’s your role at WDSEO?
I’m a Junior Web Developer, working alongside Matt and John in the Web Development team.
How long have you been working in the web design industry?
Almost a year now, working on projects large and small gaining incredible experience along the way.
What led you to this career?
After finishing my Applied Computer Science degree in June/July 2020 and a Creative Media Design course prior to that, I felt that a job in software or web development would be an ideal post.
What project(s) are you most proud of?
Robertson’s Restaurant Tavistock would be one that comes to mind first of all; while a challenging project along the way, I’m very happy with the result and most importantly, so are the lovely couple at Robertson’s.
When you were a child what did you want to be?
I know many kids wanted to be astronauts or firemen and so on, but I always loved numbers as a kid and after being told accountants work with numbers all day, I thought I was destined for it. Funny how things change!
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
Cooking, gaming and a good Netflix binge doesn’t go amiss!
If you had a time machine, would go back in time or into the future?
It has to be the future for me, seeing where things have developed to would be an exceptional experience.
If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?
Spotify, YouTube and Twitter are my go-tos.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
Being able to create objects, the capability to adapt to many situations would be interesting.
Time for some quick-fire questions!
- Dream holiday destination? Japan.
- Favourite film of all time? Good Will Hunting
- Any hidden talents? My mental maths has always been sharp if you consider that!
- Favourite season? Winter without a doubt, I love it when it’s cooler!
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Beef bourguignon, not the quickest meal to make, but delicious and relatively good for you.
What 3 things are on your bucket list?
- Visit Japan and its animal sanctuaries, like the Fox Village and Cat Island.
- Learning to drive and getting on the road.
- Backpacking or camping through Europe would be a dream come true.
Lastly, if you could pick four dream dinner party guests, who would you pick and why?
Robin Williams – Always the life of any party and hilarious to boot.
Mark Hamill – I am sure he would have some great stories about the goings on behind Star Wars!
Marie Curie – Someone with such achievements would be an honour to have a talk with.
Adam Levine – Maroon 5 have been a favourite of mine for many years and getting to meet the lead would be awesome.
